- Public Wi-Fi: Handy in a pinch, but it’s the Wild West. Criminals can set up free-looking hotspots designed to steal your personal info. The TSA and Canadian Bankers Association warn these “evil twin” networks can intercept every keystroke, including passwords and banking data. Think of it like a thief quietly pulling the next cheque out of your chequebook — it looks authentic, with your details and even your signature “embossed,” but it’s being used by someone else.
